Operation Green Light
Juan Fernandez-Barquin, Esq., Clerk of the Court and Comptroller of Miami-Dade County Announces Operation Green Light October 6th to October 19th, 2025.

Miami, FL – Juan Fernandez Barquin, Esq., Clerk of the Court and Comptroller of Miami-Dade County, announces Operation Green Light, a driver license reinstatement event to reduce the number of driver license suspensions and provide our community an opportunity to save on collection fees.
“This initiative has reduced the burden on our residents who want to do the right thing by paying back their court obligations. To date, my office has saved our residents over $1.3 million—money that goes back into the pockets of our hardworking families,” said Fernandez-Barquin.
“During this time period, I have authorized my office to waive collection fees, which are additional charges that would normally be added when a case is sent to collections. It's important to note that this waiver only removes the extra collection fee - it does not remove or reduce the original fines, fees, or citations owed.
By lowering the overall cost, this gives residents a greater opportunity to set up a payment plan if needed, and more importantly, it helps them move forward - such as by reinstating their driver licenses. The goal of Operation Green Light is to help as many of our residents as we can during this period.”
Typically, a driver license suspension occurs when an individual has unpaid traffic tickets, fails to comply, or appear at a traffic summons, point suspensions and more.
