Registration Stops or Tow Orders

Registration Stop

If you receive three or more outstanding parking citations or one disabled parking citation, the Department of Motor Vehicles will be notified to issue a stop to the registration of any vehicle in your name. To release the registration stop, you must pay the total amount due. If you need your tag renewed, you must also pay an additional $7 for a Certificate of Compliance to show when renewing your tag.

Tow Order

If you have five or more past due parking citation or one past due disabled parking citation, a court order will be issued for the impoundment and immobilization of any vehicle and license tag registered in your name.

If your vehicle has been towed, you must also pay an additional $7 for a Certificate of Compliance, which must be presented to the towing company. The towing company may charge additional towing or storage charges.

Pay by Phone
You can pay by calling 305-275-1133. Deputy Clerks may be reached between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Please be advised that there is a high demand and often long wait times for telephone service.

Pay in Person
Pay in person with a credit card, check, money order or cash at  Overtown Village South. Deputy clerks are available to assist you.
